July 28th, 1914 marked the beginning of World War I. The world was on edge enough that it sent ripples across the Atlantic Ocean that transformed into action with Kiffin and Paul Rockwell. They were compelled to join in on the preservation of freedoms. For them, and many of us, the support and defense of the dominated is at the core of being a citizen of the United States of America.

Kiffin and Paul made their way to the Great War and began to make an indelible mark on our family’s history that still inspires. For two years, Kiffin wrote letters about his time on the frontline. His brother Paul published these letters in 1925 to join in the litany of other accounts from the war.
